Recycled Material, Refreshed Memories (June 30, 2017)
Myla, one of our beautiful customers, messaged us one day to request a custom order. She had a ring design in mind and wanted to know if we can create it by utilizing the stones from her late father's ring. With such wonderful trust, she sent us the beloved ring that meant so much to her and we were so touched by this action.
To ensure that the finished product fulfilled her wishes, we wanted to execute her request accordingly and kept in close communication throughout the production process. When it was completed, we, ourselves, were stunned and enthralled by its beauty. The new ring was a dream come true for Myla and our hearts were so full in helping her complete this wish.
Now she has two new rings to call her own, made with love and care along with her father's touch to make it extra special.
With every jewelry comes a story and this is a perfect example of how old memories can be recycled to create new ones in to present reality.
Imperfectly Perfect (May 10, 2017)
Hailing from the East Coast, Katie Lou contacted us one day, inquiring about a custom order. She had a desired design from Pinterest, but it was way out of her budget. Upon browsing through our products, she derived inspiration from our “Berry Crush Cluster Necklace.” Ultimately, she requested to have the necklace design to be made into a ring within her budget. By combining both our Berry Crush and her desired Pinterest design, we worked with her step-by-step to produce this blue-tiful shade of beauty.
Katie sought out a gemstone cluster ring because she wanted to cover up a tattoo on her ring finger. Having undergone multiple and painful laser removals, the tattoo still left a mark. We made sure that the cluster ring will cover up the remaining imprint for full coverage of the imperfection. Katie also asked for a color combination of her favorite shades, which were blue and turquoise. Therefore, the ring was made with a mixture of blue topaz, tourmalines, and turquoise for the cluster design.
The custom request from Katie has left quite the mark on us. We told her: “We all do things we wish we had not done. And if it is something I can do to help you move forward in a beautiful way, you have made my day and my job that much purposeful.”
People tend to view jewelry with a materialistic outlook, but what they don’t see is the powerful meaning that bears behind such a piece. Jewelry has the potential to be an emblem of our battle scars. We, as humans, have the capability to turn life’s tragedies into something more. Mishaps are seldom seen with a positive mindset, but it can really be a blessing in disguise. We can’t always erase the scars in our lives, but we do have the human resilience to turn ashes into diamonds. From this custom order, we hope you leave reading this story that scars are not always such a bad thing. Sometimes, it may transform into something more beautiful. Our partnership with Katie Lou was so meaningful – it will be tattooed in our hearts forever.
Pop Sugar nailed it when they coined the idea that if Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, Opals are her fairy godmother! This is so fitting considering that Opals are known to have protective powers over their wearers. Opals also carry a variety of kaleidoscopic colors that can add a whimsical touch to any engagement ring.
Pop Sugar has officially titled Opals as the most coveted gemstones used for engagement rings for 2017. Because no one does Opals better than Stones & Gold we were so excited to see some of stunning rings featured in this video! We also want to congratulate our customer, Sean Curran and his fiancée for actually owning one of the rings featured in the video. How gorgeous is this opal ring on her fingers? We congratulate this gorgeous couple from the bottom of our heart and we truly wish them a happily ever after.
We are so happy and thankful to collaborate with Kaula Marie Photography and Southern Magnolia to create a fall wedding inspiration. The photo shoot focused on to inspire a fall wedding that used a jewel-toned color palette and jewelry is what we know best. We decided that our vintage inspired Pink Tourmaline engagement ring and men’s gold wedding band was the perfect set for this outdoor fall wedding. The result was an absolute autumn beauty that went hand-in- hand with the nature setting.
@gusthejournalist makes us rethink the word "engagement". Simply put, when someone is engaged we think of a rock on the lady's finger and a potential wedding to come. But at the root of it all, it may mean a sacred promise to "engage" each other for better or worse. To not be indifferent or a stranger, and have the courage to fight life together to discover life's true worth. That is an engagement.
Sarah Witherington originally purchased our Three Piece Bezel Wedding Set and we were in the dark about what purpose the set was going to serve. But in the process of trying to track down her order with the Post Office (a story we will share another day), we learned that the set she purchased would fall short of her goal.
Sarah was searching long and hard for a wedding band set that would add a little dazzle to her classic engagement ring to give it the POP she wanted.
So we suggested to her what we do best-- customize her a Wavy Bezel Band Set that would curve and stack perfectly around her engagement ring. Sarah calls it Boho Chic and we call it Simply Goddess Divine. We love everything about the look. This story shows that you shouldn’t be discouraged when your original plan does not go the way you wanted it to, because it could be a blessing in disguise…
A tale as old as time and true and it can be is both a story about Yasmin and Alex's happily ever after and about our collaboration to convert Yasmin's diamond from her father into a customized wedding band.
These are the things that get better with age- true love, wine, and of course fine jewelry. Time only increases their value as well their character, which sadly is not true of most other things in life. Maybe this is why we love what we do. Not only do we get to share in these priceless moments with our customers but we have the honor and privilege of crafting beautiful mementos that embody these vows.
We really wish Yasmin and Alex a divine walk in life together and look forward to the aging of their beautiful love!
Review from Yasmin:
"Sydney was absolutely lovely to work with. I had an old necklace from my father that I never wore and she was able to use the diamonds to make me the perfect wedding band. Also got a beautiful and unique band for my husband. We love our rings and am so thankful to have found this amazing shop on etsy. Had a few issues w sizing (our fault) and fixing everything was quick and painless. Thanks again for helping create such a special creation!"

Lynn contacted us from Canada one day with a beautiful French accent requesting that we customize a cocktail ring for her. Now here is one lady who knows more about fine jewelry than even most jewelers. From the description of the color she sought, the variety of gemstones that she might want to combine to create a one-of-a-kind look, and the details even down to the shank, there was no rock left unturned. We went through arrays of gemstones from a sea-foam aquamarine, yellow and green sapphires, morganites of various pink shades, and finally decided we were going to build a ring around a coral themed Morganite. Now to draw out the coral in the Morganite, we decided we were going to need a little aid from these gorgeous Padpadrascha Sapphires.
Just like the peachy-pink innocence of its color, Morganites are gemstones of Divine Love. To her wearers, Morganites relieves them of stress and anxiety while lightening the spirit from old wounds. Morganites allows for one to move away from negativity towards peace and confidence, which makes sense because it creates an open space in one's soul to be receptive to love and also simultaneously creating capacity to love. Papadrascha Sapphires are also gentle stones that calms the spirit. The combination of these two gemstones bring about not only an unparalleled sophisticated pink marriage made in heaven, the energy is just unbelievable.
We are so delighted that we were able to craft such a masterpiece design with such wonderful gemstones. As we welcome October, here is our homage to the birthstone of this month.
These beautiful, customized tear-drop emerald and citrine bezel rings left us today for their permanent home. We LITERALLY had to part with them with tears because they were so gorgeous.
Dana contacted us to customize bezel rings with birthstones for May and November because she liked the simplicity of our tourmaline bezel ring. We, of course, gladly took on the task because our regulars know just how much we love customizing and we live for that moment when the project is finally completed and we get to oooh~ and ahhhh~ about the collaboration that gave birth to something more beautiful than we could've imagined.
The beautiful, lush Emerald as the birthstone for May is symbolic of love, life, and rebirth. The green of an emerald is such an easy place to rest your gaze and let your mind frolic from the daily stresses that comes naturally with life. Citrine is one of the birthstones for May and just like the warm, embracing orange color it wears, Citrine is supposed to bring warmth and hope to its wearer. As we went through the various shapes of emerald and citrine that we can use for this project, Dana and her husband decided that they wanted to create a yin and yang effect by placing the teardrops horizontally. But what is simply magical is that life is also an act of balancing the good and the bad. When there is a season of growth and renewal, there is naturally a counteracting time of adversity and suffering. However, if you are able to weather through those times with the energy and support from the people you love, spring is definitely guaranteed to come again.
On that note, we send our love, warm wishes, and our handcrafted babies to you Dana wishing for that yin & yang to always be present in your life!
Marrying someone can sometimes be frightening, but not until you realize that you will be sharing the rest of your life with your best friend, now-husband, no-longer-boyfriend, and future-father-of-your-child. This photo of the playful couple, @camilecorpz (on Instagram), allows us to take a step back and realize that your wedding day does not always have to be such a stressful experience. After all…It is a day where people are actually applauding you and your loved one for simply loving one another.
We would like to dedicate this post to the lovely newlyweds @rsvpeas (on Instagram). This photo is simply magical and is so heartwarming that we almost feel as if time simply froze to hold onto this moment a little longer. Occasions like this make for such an exuberating experience that humbles us and reminds us again what is most important in life. To be a part of this story and stories that are yet to be told not only gets us up in the morning excited to come to work but also acts as a catalyst for creating more beautiful pieces than yesterday. We would to take this time to thank our customers for giving us the honor of being a part of their lives through our products and also giving us a glimpse into these exclusive moments by sharing such endearing photos.
Paola and Ramon are one of our dear clients who we have had the absolute pleasure of working with on multiple occasions.
Though we have never met in person because we have worked so intricately to create several mementos for them, the lingering emotion and sentiment is one that is built between two pen pals over distance and time.
Just like the sparkly champagne tourmaline and champagne diamonds that are hers now, we imagine Paola is a graceful soul with charm that is her own. And Ramon in good taste had the impeccable eye to spot her for the treasure she is.
At stones & gold, we wish Paola and Ramon a lifetime of happiness and love. We also look forward to continuing to work with them as their marriage and our business age together. Just as diamonds and gemstones in their natural substance are not something that is forged over night, we know that something real will never be easily replaced.
This beautiful combination of 14 Karat Rose Gold Bevels with a 14K White Gold Gray Center seems very symbolic of marriage. When two come together as one, and differences aside, in their joining create a masterful symphony. Yes, the soldering and joining was not easy. And yes, who could possibly imagine such a feminine rose color would pair so magically with a harsh, cool gray center. However, after all the hard work put in and sacrifices made, there is nothing quite as monumental and beautiful as a couple who have decided to stay glued together through out all the hardships to make a difference.
The origin and history behind the tradition of wearing a wedding band was because a circle symbolized an eternity with no beginning and end and the space in the middle was indicative of entering a gateway leading into a new chapter of life. As an homage to this tradition, this two-tone ring exemplifies the joining of the heart, when two become one, a commitment to stay together and not walk away even when it gets difficult because that is love.
As we send this ring away to its new home, we send our warmest wishes to the couple entering into a new commitment in their life that their love will never tarnish just like the gold this ring is made of.
Now that he's put a ring on it, the next looming question as the wedding is fast approaching is what wedding band will not only match but create a perfect look for you to wear happily thereafter. If you didn't get much of an stylistic input in choosing the engagement ring, all the more reason why the complementing wedding band is that much more important.
Well, Nicole Thien, power blogger and a recent bride who has personally gone through this shopping experience has a tip or two to share about how to shop for a perfect wedding band. Please follow this link to read more about it: http://uniquelywomen.net/6-tips-choosing-wedding-band/
In collaborating to create a perfect look to complement her beautiful marquise engagement ring, we decided to pair it with a side way marquise diamond wedding band that accentuates and highlights her centerpiece. Again, not all you see on the four corners of our website is all we have.
Another fun example of a wedding band or wedding bands in this case is a posh layered look we worked to together to build for our customer "chickalick." The end result- a combination that is just to die for.
If you really are out of ideas or want someone to bounce your ideas off of, we are here to assist you. You don't have to face this daunting task alone!
Gorgeous yellow gold chain. I needed a necklace for the small pendant in the picture, and Sydney was very quick and helpful in discussing my options and what she thought would fit best. It’s beautiful chain that I will be able to wear alone or with other pendants as well. My wedding rings are from S&G too. My experience with this jeweler has been phenomenal. I look forward to future purchases! The quality and beauty of each piece is always exceptional.
Candi is a dear customer of ours that we first met through our Etsy shop in May 2015. Since then, we've designed various diamond bezel rings for her in all shapes and sizes. But the greatest highlight of our meeting happened when we got to work with her to create these beautiful chandelier, emerald earrings that literally we could stare at all day long. She honored us with the opportunity to make her drawing come to life and our breath was taken away by the outcome of our collaboration. Thank you Candi and we truly look forward to our next project together. Your vision and our production can create the finest jewelry!
Testimonial from Candi: "Outstanding Workmanship! I love working with this company so much. Looking forward to many more projects...Can't say enough about how happy I am with this company..."
Our mantra always has been to provide fine jewelry at affordable prices. Although purchasing on-line can be a daunting process with so many choices and the looming question of whether you will get what you paid for, we had faith that our products will speak for themselves and we will slowly but surely be able to win our customers' trust over.
In a world where everything is so fast-paced, we aspire to build lasting relationships with repeat customers. A jeweler's relationship with her customers have always been one grounded in trust and loyalty. Even though being that we are on-line there is a modern twist, we still believe certain values and traditions will stand the test of time. That being said, we are already 100% committed to you so give us a chance!
We are still catching our breath from this delivery! But really there are actual humans, real people, working just behind the door of this website to make the impossible happen to bring a smile to your face! From our heart to yours~

Occasionally, you run into some very special people. That was the case with Tamara and Michael. You know as soon as you meet them they were absolutely destined for each other and to create sacred emblems that would tie their knot was not an insignificant matter.
Michael originally chose a very unique leaf-inspired natural sapphire engagement ring from our on-line collection. We could not help but wonder about the person behind the screen that ordered this extraordinary piece. But our curiosity was satiated when we finally got the privilege of meeting Michael and Tamara in person to design her wedding band. And everything made complete sense. Tamara had an artistic streak- she did not want something that everyone else had.
Tamara expressed she wanted a star sapphire in her wedding band to complement the faceted sapphires in her engagement ring. So we took months searching for the perfect pear-shaped star sapphire to serve this purpose. When we finally found the “it” stone we immediately proceeded to bring her idea to life. Tamara and Michael both contributed tremendously to the creation of her wedding band from drawing out images, making multiple visits to our office, making little adjustments until the ring was just perfect!
If building lasting relationships just like the products we craft is our goal, it’s just a super sweet feeling when the clients you meet along the road are so genuine and awesome! #blessed
We had the privilege of working with Amie to customize and craft a whimsical wedding band to go with her engagement ring. She sent us inspiration photos from which we gathered information about how she wanted it tweaked so that it best fit her vision. It was truly our honor to work with you Amie! We hope you have a beautiful happily ever and thank you for choosing to work with us!
Here is her testimonial: "Sydney is amazing to work with through the customization process. As soon as I sent a picture of what I wanted, she replied quickly saying how much it would cost and gave me information about the rest of the process. I felt very comfortable because she was always so quick to reply and forward with the progress of the project. I highly recommend using the customization service for the quality and value. As Sydney said, she is looking to create lifelong customers, and the level of service she provides clearly demonstrates this."
